Nail Team Challenge - 50 shades of green

Today we have our challenge day with a very interesting theme proposed by Andra Katerina. 50 shades of green...well, this time I wasn't very inspired and because of lack of time I choose to make a very simple nail design with different shades of green.

I used for the base Avon - Turquoise pop which is a light green shade, very near to mint. I don't know why but it reminds me of macaroons. The second layer of polish is Golden Rose nr. 217, which it is applied as a half moon on the base. and the last layer of green polish is Bell - Air Flow- Lotus Effect. The idea was to create a gradient in layers. In natural light conditions the transition between the colors are more obvious than in the pictures, which were taken at a desk light. I added the dots to make this mani a little bit playful.

I have to mention this color is one of my favorite ones, so I am heading to the other girls blog to see all the beautiful manicures in green!

Carnival time

Hello lovely ladies

Last weekend I was at a party in a restaurant together with my husband and friends. Each year in this period of time we say goodby to the winter and celebrate it with a carnival party! You can find my last years costume here

This year my husband came up with the idea and asked me to were an Indian outfit. For me it was easy because I had a beautiful hand made blouse, originally from India and I just had to DIY some jewelry's to it. But first, my manicure. As you can see the outfit is red, so I made an easy design with red and gold polish combination.

For the base I used Front Cover - Red Shoes and I topped it with Sephora - Purple Jewelry. The gold lines are painted with Tip Top Nails - Reggae to Riches and on the negative space I added some gold studs.

I love the flakes effect in the sun!

Here are some pictures from the outfits and party. My head piece is made from an old earring that I put on a gold chain and the nose ring is actually two earrings attached to another. All the other jewelry's are from my mother, she is a big collector!
Together with my dear friend Aliz. I painted her face!
With my amazing and lovely husband. He wore a commando outfit for a while.
My friend won the second price for the best outfit from all!
Here is a close up from my make-up. It was extremely hard to put the fake lashes on and were them. It was the first time for me!
With the group we set on the same table. They were super cool people. Charlie Chapline won the first prize and Dracula the third!
The winners.
The fans :))

I hope you liked my post. Sorry about the quality of some pictures, they were taken with the phone!

Have a fantastic day and thank you for stopping by!

Nail Team Challenge - Inspired by someone close to you

Hello dear ladies.

Today is the 7 day from our challenge and I think this is the most interesting theme from all, thought by Andra, Sophies's Nail Art Dreamland. For me it was crystal clear that my inspiration will be my daughter. She is my everything, my whole life builds up around her, so I dedicate this mani to her!

She is a big fan of the Frozen movie and for several times she asked me to paint Elsa or Ana on my nails. So, this was a great opportunity to make her wish come true.

I usually make simple nail designs and this one needs a lot of skills, so, of course I am not very satisfied with the results. My time was extremely limited too and I made the portrait of Elsa quickly, I think in 30 minutes, and such a work with a lot of details needs a little bit more time in my opinion. My daughter was happy that I choose to make this mani, but she didn't liked the portrait very much either, because the resemblance with the original is not very obvious! One thing is sure, I have to practice a lot! On a big canvas I don't have problems to draw, but on the nails it is much harder!

I live you with the manicure and I am very curious what the other girls made. You can find the link's to their blogs at the end of this post.

New nail and hand care products

I've bought recently a few new nail care products and I thought I will share with you my opinion about it.

It is not a big secret that I am a big fan of the Yves Rocher brand, so when I saw in the catalog the new Exfoliating botanical hand care oil, I immediately knew that I want to try it. It is the first time I use such a product and I have to mention that it helped me a lot through these tough and cold days. The product is with Arnica Chamissonis and Strawberry Achenes and it exfoliates the hands gently and thoroughly with its 100% natural particles in a few minutes and lives them smooth and very hydrated. It is recommended to be used at least ones a week!

From the Born Pretty Store I bought 2 nail buffers, that you can find here. They came to my attention because of the bright and cheerful color of them. They prepare the nails  in four quick steps! Each side of the buffer is numbered and tells you what it does, starting with a gritty shaping file and ending with a polishing touch in 4 steps. The buffer is OK, it does not remove totally the yellowness from the nails and the last step, polishing does not give the perfect and strong shine that I would expect from such a product.

I needed something for my cuticles, so I bought Revlon the Cuticle Softener, that promises to moisturize and condition the cuticles. The product is a blue gel in a polish bottle with small white micro beads floating inside of it. It must be applied along the cuticle and rubbed in for a stronger effect. I used it exactly like described and I didn't noticed a big change, but I have to mention that it smell very good!

Next is a product that I've got from my Secret Santa, Katy and I appreciate it a lot, because I've heard a lot of good things about the Eveline 8 in 1 Total Action Intensive Nail Conditioner and I wanted to try it too. Everything that I've read and herd about it, is totally true. Two of my nails started to exfoliate and this product saved me. The conditioner supposed to be applied on a clean nail each day, four days in a row. I have to admit that I don’t followed these rules I used it as a base coat, but I can still see the results, my nails are much firmer and they do not break as easily and they are fully recovered, as you can see in the pictures.

As I saw that this brand works magic, I bought a hand cream Eveline Glycerine Hand & Nail Cream-Mask 5 in1 Bio Goat’s Milk. I am very particular when it comes to hand creams, but this one convinced me. It absorbs very well, at first I was worried that it would be greasy but it goes away in a few seconds and the hands fell like they have a protective shield on it. Hard to describe, it is like a mask. This is why I apply it at night and in the morning I have very well nourished skin. I like the smell of it too!

I hope I didn't bored you much. I tried to be short in my descriptions, so if you have any questions about the products, fell free to ask me in the comments and if you like anything from the Born Pretty Store you can use my discount code from below for any of your purchase.

Nail Team Challenge - Vintage Nails

I know, I know it is not Saturday, the usual day for our group challenge, but yesterday some of the girls from the TPA group had an another collaboration with the theme V-Day and that is why we postponed our challenge.

We are at the 6 challenge week, and yeey, I didn't missed one until know, so I am continuing to follow my new year resolution! The topic was thought by the lovely Mihaela, Ela's dream nails. I love vintage style, so I had a few ideas but nothing came out as I imagined. I was super disappointed and mad, I blamed it on my mood, I had some hard and stressful days and every time I started to paint my nails, I was super tired.

I am going to show you my fail attempt too, and at the end of the post the mani that I absolutely love and I think it is proper for this challenge.

I am not going to detail the fail mani, because I hate it. The base is OK but the stamping on it came out horrible and the frame makes it look hideous.

Double stamped
After an another failed attempt, that I didn't took pictures from because I was super mad, I finally made it, I created a mani, that I absolutely LOVE!

I made a base that looks like an old paper, mixing three polishes. They are Rimmel - Gold Save The Queen, from the Flip Your Colour collection, P2 Volume Gloss - Cute Girl and Golden Rose 186. Than I stamped my nails with the MoYou nails plate nr. 97 and added the roses on it with Rimmel - Rose Libertine and acrylic paint.

How do you like it?
