Flower power nails and a great weekend

I was in the mood to try out a striking color combination and I can tell you that everybody noticed this manicure!

I used the bold bright blue with a beautiful blue shimmer from Barry M. - Retro Blue. Application was smooth and I needed just one coat to achieve a fully opaque color. I combined it with the Nails Inc. Candy Orange polish, that is a bright orange with a slight milky hue. It is very pigmented and thick in texture and I needed just one coat to cover my nails perfectly, though with slight streaking marks. It goes on very glossy and dries pretty quickly.

For my accent nail I choose to create small flowers with the help of a dotting tool and added to the above mentioned combination a white polish.

My next pictures does not go well with my flower power design, but I wanted to show you how I spent my weekend. We didn't traveled anywhere and decided instead to participate at the events organized in our city. We went to the Agraria (Agriculture) international exhibition where in addition to the latest tools and equipment there were exposed rare or unknown animal breeds. It was interesting to see sheep's, cows and horses, little different from the known breeds.

After that we went to a Dog Show where we saw a lot of cute champion dogs, but the most spectacular moment was presented from a well known dog trainer that won a talent show (Romanii au Talent) last year and his dogs. So, I let you with the photos. Enjoy!

How do you like my manicure? Do you usually use strong color combinations on your nails?

Thank you for stopping by!

Water-marble - Guest nails

Those who saw my previous post know that I made recently the nails of two of my friends. I've created a water-marble to my dear friend Aliz, I usually avoid this technique because of the mess, but I promised her that I will show her how to make a nail design with water. She was thrilled by the results, but I think I could do better. I had some problems with the spreading of the polish on the surface of the water, but at least the polishes didn't created bubbles on the nails :) I chosed the beautiful limited edition green-blue polish from Kallos and combined it with a white one. This is the result.

Be gentile with me, I know that this is not of my best designs, but I decided to try it again. Maybe you girls who like this technique could give me some tips!

Saran wrap - Guest nails

My friends visited me in the Easter holiday's and of course I gifted them with a new manicure. I was a little tired, unfortunately my condition appears to the status of my work too, I think I didn't do my best, but my friends liked it. So, I decided to show you the manicures. This time I will post just one of them. My friend wanted a green and gold combined design, so I created a saran wrap mani with the beautiful green Gabrini 3D and the golden Essence polish. I live you with the pictures!

I hate to do photos in artificial light conditions but this time I didn't had other choice. I have to tell you that the green polish looks more prettier in natural light!

How do you like the mani? Please do tell me your opinion about it!

Haul

Hello ladies,

Today you will see some new products I bought recently and I made some swatches for it.

Marionnaud - Violet Fabuleux - I bought this polish together with Beau Monde magazine. This intense violet color and the shape of the bottle attracted me the most. The polish has a light blue shimmer in the sun. I applied it in one coat, but for a fully opaque coverage I think it needs two coats.

Modelite - mini HD F12 - is a beautiful green polish with a fantastic cream finish. I applied it in 1 coat and it became fully opaque.

Revlon - Pineapple Fizz is a yellow jelly base with flake shimmer. It can be applied pretty smoothly. The finish is glossy but it is a very sheer polish so it must be applied in 3-4 coats, or you can layer them on top of other colors. The polish is scented after it’s dries. Pineapple Fizz vaguely reminded me of pineapple, it had more of a general sweetness to it, but not over bearing.

Le petit Cliché - 86-60-86 - it is a  dark tone blue with a little purple in the formula and a blue and purple shimmer that has a beautiful reflection. The formula, flows nicely on the nails and it is simple to applyI used 2 coats for an excellent coverage and it dried very quickly! I think this is very elegant polish it can be used in various occasions, I think that is super stylish with denim, dark blue clothes, purple or white!

S-he 323 - I saw this polish at Mihaela, lacquerbuzz blog and I instantly fell in love and I knew that I want it. This polish is from the fall collection it is a pale-brown, purple color with golden flakes in it. Two layers are enough for a perfect coverage. The brush is very nice to work with but the drying time takes  a little bit longer, but it worth waiting because the final result is a stunning and classy neutral color!

Astor - 610 Satin Angel - it is a pearly sheer polish with calcium and keratin complex that strengthens the nails, so it does not need any base or top coat. It has a shinny finish and it can be applied easily and you can achieve a flawless result using it!

I wanted a new hand cream that nourishes the nails too, so I took advantage of Yves Rocher's offer, that gave me two hand creams for the price of one. I am talking about the well known Beaute des Mains 2 in 1 Hand and Nail Cream with organic arnica.

For me this product is pure perfection, it has a great consistency, it gives instant relief to dry hands and does not make them greasy. The skin absorbs it very quickly and it has a subtle smell. A big plus for me is that it is made from natural products and it does not contain any parabens or harmful ingredients.

What kind of hand cream's do you use?
Do you have some of the above mentioned polishes?
Which one is your favorite?

My Easter nails

Because of lack of time I made  a very simple Easter design. It is bright and joyful in my opinion.

I used four polishes:
American Apparel - The Valley: beautiful pale blue and opaque nail color on which I applied one white bow water decal.

Missguided - MISSBEHAVE: cotton candy pink. Pretty and girly, this cute candy shade will add a feminine touch to any outfit!

The nail polish comes in a cute black and gold box (which I trowed away before I took the pictures) and in a great square-shaped bottle.

I applied three coats which I have to say dried really fast. I also found the polish really easy to apply and it doesn't streak. The results a beautiful high-shine finish. Missguided's nail polish range is Formaldehyde and Toluene free which is kinder on the nail. The formulation is apparently anti-yellowing, meaning it doesn't stain your nails and it's durable.

Flormar 392: a silver glittery holo polish for the dots and bow.

Sally Hansen - Lavander Cloud: for the white dots.

I hope you enjoyed my manicure and my new nail shape. I had to change it from square to oval because they broke quite often at the edges. I hope they will get healthier and harder with the time.

How do you like this nail shape? How about my design?

I wish you all a peaceful and happy Easter!
