Feather manicure - Fail

For a long time I wanted to create a manicure with colored feathers, and finally I bought from a store such products necessary for this type of manicure. It was hard to choose from the multitude of feathers, but I stopped at a red and black combination. I was very  anxious to try the them and I was imagining how my nails will look like. Unfortunately, a total disappointment, I had to put on the nails several layers of top coat to cover the feathers, and the polish made ​a lot of air bubbles and this way I have a horrible manicure - perfect for Halloween, no? :). But I won't give up, I will try with another top coat than the one I used here, the essence-gel-look nails. Have you ever tried to do this kind of manicure? Can you give me some tips?

De multa vreme imi doream sa creez o manichiura cu pene colorate, si in sfarsit mi-am cumparat dintr-un magazin produsele necesare pentu o astfel de manichiura. La fata locului imi era foarte greu sa aleg din multitudinea de pene, dar m-am oprit la varianta rosie combinata cu negru. Am fost entuziasmata la cumpararea produsului si deja ma gandeam cum o sa imi arate manichiura. Din pacate dezamagire totala, din cauza ca trebuia sa aplic pe unghie mai multe straturi de top coat sa acopere penele, oja mi-a facut o gramada de bule de aer si astfel a iesit  o manichiura urata - de altfel perfecta pentru Halloween, nu? :). Dar nu ma dau batuta, o sa mai incerc si cu un alt top coat decat cel de la essence- gel-look nails si o sa incerc din nou acest tip de manichiura. Voi ati creat vreodata o astfel de manichiura? Puteti sa imi dati cateva sfaturi?

Last week I received in the mail two products from the site KKCenterHk to wright a review about them. What I liked the most at first sight it was the packaging style the products were put in a small blue sealed bag with care and attention!

Saptamana trecuta am primit prin posta doua produse de la firma KKCenterHk pentru a-mi exprima parerea despre ele. Ceea ce mi-a placut la prima vedere a fost modul in care au fost impachetate produsele, cu multa grija si atentie!

As you can see in the pictures I received a plate with floral and tribal images that are  very fashionable this period of time. In addition I received a stamp and scraper necessary to apply the design on the nails. Unfortunately they have not worked, the scraper did not cleaned the surface of the plate well enough and this way the stamper was quite messy and I couldn't do a clean stamping. For this reason I used the stamper and scraper from another kit from my collection. I have to add that the plate was covered with a protective thin foil.

I was very anxious to use the tribal pattern! I will show you first the results I obtained.

Cum vedeti si in imagini este vorba despre o placuta cu imagini florale si nu numai, care sunt elegante si foarte la moda ca si design. Pe langa aceasta placuta am primit o stampila si o lama necesare pentru realizarea manichiurii. Din pacate acestea nu au functionat, lama nu curata bine placuta si astfel modelul nu era preluat in mod curat pe stampila. Din aceasta cauza am utilizat lama si stampila de la un alt kit din colectia mea. Mai trebuie sa precizez ca placuta era acoperita cu o folie de protectie.

Abia am asteptat sa utilizez modelul stil tribal. Va arat prima data rezultatul pe care l-am obtinut.

  

As you can see the design from the plate is quite small for my long and wide nails, so I recommend this for those who have smaller hands and nails, if you would like to cover the entire surface of the nail. But with a little creativity you can create designs for larger nails too!

Imaginea pentru unghiile mele late si lungi sunt destul de mici, deci recomand aceasta placuta pentu maini si unghii mai mignone in cazul in care doriti ca modelul sa acopere intreaga suprafata a unghiei. Dar cu putina creativitate se pot creea si modele pe unghii mai mari!

I used the floral design from the middle of the plate to create an elegant manicure. I hope you like the results because I was very happy with what I achieved. I put in the middle of each flower one medium sized rhinestone for a shiny and elegant touch.

Am folosit modelul floral din mijlocul placutei pentru o manichiura eleganta. Sper sa va placa pentru ca eu eram foarte multumita de rezultatul obtinut. Am mai aplicat in mijlocul fiecarei flori un stras decorativ de marime medie.

My birthday cake

On 16th October I had my birthday and I thought to do a surprise for my family and friends, preparing a cake with chestnuts and chocolate. I do not like to spend much time in the kitchen and because of this I choose easy recipes to prepare any kind of food. This cake is a very easy one and extremely delicious.

In 16 octombrie am avut ziua de nastere si m-am gandit sa le fac o surpriza pietenilor si familiei mele, pregatind un tort cu castane. Nu imi place sa petrec mult timp in bucatarie si din aceasta cauza caut retete usoare. Acest tort este extrem de usor de pregatit si foarte delicios.

Ingredients:
For the crust:
500 gr. grind biscuits
200 g butter or margarine, melted
5 tablespoons powdered sugar
5 tablespoons cocoa
1.5 ml coffee
1 tablespoon of rum flavor
100 gr. chocolate pieces
250-300 gr. cherry compote
syrup of the compote

For the  cream:
600 gr. chestnuts (when if it's fresh add 1 tablespoon of rum flavor, if it is frozen and already prepared with rum  you do not need to add more flavor)
400 ml whipped cream
10 g gelatin

Ingrediente:

Pentru blat:

500 gr. biscuiti macinati sau zdorbiti

200 gr unt sau margarina topita

5 linguri zahar praf

5 linguri cacao

1,5 ml cafea

1 lingura aroma de rom

100 gr. bucati de ciocolata menajera

250-300 gr. compot de cirese 

siropul compotului

Crema:

600 gr. castane (daca sunt proaspete trebuie adaugat 1 lingura de aroma de rom, daca aveti varianta congelata nu mai este nevoie sa ii adaugati alte ingrediente)

400 ml frisca 

10 g gelatina

Preparation:
1. For the crust mix all the above ingredients, except the cherries and place it in a cake form and leave it in the fridge until you prepare the cream.
2. Prepare the gelatin according to directions on the package and mix it with the chestnuts and whipped cream to create a mousse. Put on the crust the cherries (previously strain them to not drip anymore) and add cream over it. Leave it in the fridge about 20-25 minutes.
3. Decorate with chocolate, whipped cream, cherries or whatever you want.
 

Mod de pregatire:

1. Pentru blat amestecati toate ingredientele mai sus amintite, in afara de cirese si le asezati intr-o forma de tort si le lasati in frigider pana pregatiti crema.

2. Pregatiti gelatina dupa indicatiile de pe ambalaj si o amestecati cu castanele si frisca batuta spuma. Peste blatul scos din frigider asezati ciresele (in prealabil incercati sa le strecurati foarte bine ca sa nu mai picure din ele siropul compotului) si peste ele adaugati crema. Lasati la frigider aproximativ 20-25 minute.

3. Decorati cu ciocolata, frisca, cirese sau orice doriti.

 I assure you this combination can create addiction! 

 Va asigur ca aceasta combinatie creaza dependenta!

Haunting Halloween

We only have a few days from this month and at the door knocks the 1 November. There are many people who at this time are celebrating Halloween with parties, scary masks, specific makeup's and so on. Personally I'm not a big fan of these events, but since the girls from the beauty blogs enter this atmosphere I thought to participate myself with a manicure to this project. I created a simple manicure, inspired by my daughter's toy spider. I'll let you with the pictures and remember to visit the other participants blogs.

Mai avem doar cateva zile din aceasta luna si bate la usa 1 Noiembrie. Sunt foarte multi care in aceasta perioada sarbatoresc Halloween-ul cu party-uri, masti infricosatoare, machiaje stridente etc. Eu personal nu sunt o mare fana a acestor evenimente, dar din moment ce blogosfera beauty intra in aceasta atmosfera m-am gandit sa particip si eu cu o manichiura la acest proiect. Am creat o manichiura simpla, fiind inspirata de paianjenul de jucarie al fiicei mele. Va las cu imaginile si nu uitati sa vizitati blogul tuturor fetelor participante.

Today is a special day, I will show you a sweet and talented girl from Indonesia hows biggest passion is nail art. You can visit her blog myg nails and I am sure you will find a lot of manicures that you will like.  Here are just some of them.

For today's guest post she prepared a special manicure that you can see in the pictures bellow and some answers to my questions. This way all of you can know her a little bit better. So, enjoy this guest post and on her blog you will find mine, but please keep in mind the time difference between the two country's is quite big, 5 hours, so my guest post will be visible a little bit later!

     When and why did you made a blog?

It’s been 1 year and couple of months that I write and share my nail art. First, I made the blog just to display my nail art, but time passed and I also made it a place to share my passion for nail art. I wrote the concept of each design, took better photos, and bought more nail-polishes and nail-kits so I could make more varied ideas. And recently I try to show the step-by-step of each design that I make, so I hope my blog it isn’t just a place to see and share, but also to learn about it.

     How did you get into nail art?

When I was in high school, it was 4-5 years ago, me and my friends started to buy and borrow each others nail polishes. We tried every color and if it didn’t look good on our nails, we removed it. Until I found nail stickers and fell in love with it and lately, I like more and more the free hand nail art. I seldom use nail stickers anymore but paint it with colors and make every detail by myself. Overall, I love nail-art since I was  17 years old. I started applying one color polishes on my nails and stickers, and now I make nail-paintings:)

     What are your favorite brands to use?

I don’t have specific nail polishes that I love, my favorites are pastel or pale colors, like lemon drop, lilac, mint, baby blue, pearl pink, and peach. So, every time I see these colors I just grab them. But if I have to choose, O.P.I. and Revlon are my favorite brands. They’re easy to apply (that’s what I think). It is really rare that I buy other brands.

     How big your polish collection is and how much do you spend for this passion?

My collection isn’t that big. It’s just about 20 something, I don’t really count them. I love to make my own experiment about the colors, for example if I want the color to be lighter I mix it with white, if I want a darker pink I mix it with a slight of red, and so on.

And about how much I’ve spent for it, I always put aside some of my pocket money every month, to renew my nail polish collection.

     Where did you get the ideas for your nail art?

Honestly, I often get the ideas from the pictures I see on the internet. It can be on Google, another nail art blog, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter too sometimes. Since I love a group of Korean singers, sometimes I am inspired by their concept and the other inspiration come from colors, shapes, and anything that surrounds me.

     Do you ever go to nail salons for a manicure?

Never and I don’t think I will. It’s fun and kind of a mood booster for me to do my own nails and for  others  too. The nail salons in my town aren’t that good like I see on the internet or in other countries, and since I can do it myself, I really love to spend time doing my nails.

    What's your favorite manicure that you ever made?

Umm, it’s a really hard question for me, because I love every single nail art that I make. But for this guest post I made flags from 10 countries (random choices, he he) and I used the colors a little bit different like in  the real flags. I painted it with my favorite colors, pastels, in which dominates the white, lilac, and pearl baby pink :D

For this manicure and almost always, I only use the original brush from the nail polish itself. I don’t buy another brush to help me make my designs, because for me, the brushes from O.P.I., Revlon, and The FaceShop’s nail polishes are already comfortable and easy enough to be used. But sometimes I use a dotting tool to make small details and difficult patterns, like flowers, dots, and small lines and rarely I also use stickers  :)

Magnetic french

I reorganized my polish boxes and found the beautiful Flormar magnetic polish which I bought this year in April and I have posted about it here. I loved it and that's why I thought to create a french manicure with the same polish. This is the result I obtained:

Am reorganizat cutiutele mele cu oje si am gasit frumoasa oja magnetica de la Flormar, pe care am cumparat-o inca la inceputul anului, prin aprilie si am si postat aici despre ea. Mi-a placut foarte mult atunci si din aceasta cauza m-am gandit sa creez cu aceeasi oja o manichiura french. Rezultatul este acesta:

To my surprise the polish does not work. I stayed with the magnet over my nails even more than needed but the effect was mot the desired one. Did this happened to you? The polish is quite new, the guarantee term is until 2014 and I used it just one time. However, I like the color of this polish so I will keep it and use it in other combinations, without using the magnet.

Spre surpriza mea oja magnetica nu mai functioneaza. Am stat cu magnetul deasupra unghiei chiar mai mult decat trebuia dar efectul nu a fost cel dorit. Voua vi sa intamplat acest lucru? Oja este destul de noua, termenul de valabilitate este pana in 2014 si am utilizat-o doar o data. Totusi o sa pastrez oja pentru ca imi place mult culoarea ei si o voi folosii in alte combinatii fara sa utilizez magnetul.

Born Pretty Store - Flocking Powder

Last week I received a nail mail, beautifully packaged, a product very much expected of me – the Velvet Flocking Powder. I chose this product from the Born Pretty Store website, where you can find a variety of accessories, cosmetics, nail art products and many other beautiful things.

Saptamana trecuta am primit prin posta, frumos impachetat un produs foarte mult asteptat de mine - Pulbere de catifea. Am ales acest produs de pe site-ul Born Pretty Store, unde se pot gasi o multitudine de accesorii, cosmetice, produse pentru nail art si multe alte lucruri frumoase. 

I chose a recipient filled with purple velvet powder in about 13 gr. The package also included a tweezers for an easier application and a wide brush to remove the excess powder from the nails.

Am ales un  recipient plin de  pulbere in culoarea violet, aproximativ de 13 gr. Pachetul a mai continut o penseta pentru o aplicare mai usoara si o pensula lata pentru eliminarea excesului de pulbere de pe unghii. 

To get the soft, fluffy 3D effect on the nails I proceeded in the following way:

-     First of all I applied a clear nail polish to protect my nails

-   From my collection I chose a purple nail polish in the same color as the powder and I applied one layer and waited to dry. After applying the second layer, I immediately sprinkled with the help of the tweezers the velvet powder on it. I removed the excess with the soft brush.

-   This manicure does not need a top coat

-   Before I created this mani I placed a sheet of paper under my nails to recover the failed powder.

Pentru a obtine efectul catifelat pe unghii am procedat in urmatorul mod:

-        am aplicat oja transparenta pentru protectia unghiei

-    din colectia mea am ales o oja apropiata ca si culoare cu pulberele violet si am aplicat un strat, iar la al doilea strat, imediat am presarat cu ajutorul pensetei pulberele de catifea. Excesul l-am indepartat cu pensula moale din pachet.

-  Inaintea crearii acestei manichiuri am asezat o coala de hartie sub mana pentru a putea recupera din catifeaua picata de pe unghii.

-      Nu este nevoie de aplicarea unui top coat!

I really like this product, it is easy to use and stays quite long on the nails, even if I wash my hands often or I am dish-washing. When I cleaned my nails I used my usual cleaner and it worked very fast!
